Job Purpose
This role supports the "Strengthening and Monitoring of Innovative Actions and Improvement of the Penal and Socio-educational Systems" project in Brazil. The objective is to develop innovative methodologies and actions to restore the proper functioning of the prison and socio-educational systems. The position will contribute to strengthening the monitoring and oversight of interventions, particularly by providing technical assistance to the National Council of Justice (CNJ). The goal is to enhance the judiciary's capacity to address systemic issues, protect vulnerable populations, and ensure compliance with constitutional and human rights standards, especially in light of the recognized unconstitutional state of Brazilian prisons.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Integrated Training Area Coordinator, the Integrated Training Assistant will collaborate on the design, development, and revision of technical and pedagogical content for the "Fazendo Justiça" Program, focusing on the penal and socio-educational systems. Responsibilities include organizing, updating, and standardizing didactic materials and pedagogical resources for various training formats. The role involves conducting needs assessments and analyzing training data to inform planning. Collaboration with specialists and partner institutions is key for content integration. The assistant will participate in the planning and execution of training activities, providing pedagogical and operational support, logistical organization, and document preparation. Monitoring training actions, consolidating data, and preparing technical reports, including documenting lessons learned and best practices, are also core duties. Other compatible activities contributing to the area's progress will be undertaken.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of professional or academic experience in research and practice within the field of criminal law and criminal justice is required. Desirable experience includes supporting academic, educational, and research projects, as well as experience in pedagogical processes, including the conception, development, and revision of technical content for various training formats.
