A National Committee, comprising various institutions, coordinates IVY 2026 activities. This role supports the National Focal Point in managing the Committee's operations.

Job Purpose

This online volunteering assignment aims to support the operational functioning of the National Committee for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026) in Guatemala. The volunteer will provide crucial administrative and coordination support to the National Focal Point (MINEX). Key contributions include assisting with meeting logistics, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking action items, and maintaining organized records. The role also involves facilitating communication among committee members and supporting the preparation of IVY 2026-related events. This position is vital for ensuring the effective coordination and successful implementation of national volunteerism initiatives for sustainable development.

Responsibilities

The online volunteer will provide operational support to the National Focal Point for IVY 2026 in Guatemala (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to ensure the smooth functioning of the National Committee, which meets approximately twice monthly. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting in the preparation and distribution of meeting invitations for the Committee. - Developing agendas and providing basic organizational support for meetings. - Taking meeting notes and preparing concise minutes or summaries. - Following up on action items and decisions made by the Committee. - Maintaining organized documentation, contact lists, and work files for the Committee. - Supporting the dissemination of information among Committee members as needed. - Providing ad-hoc support for the preparation of activities or events related to the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026).

Work Experience

Required experience includes administrative assistance, meeting coordination, agenda management, minute-taking, and action item follow-up. Desirable experience includes strong organizational and coordination skills, excellent written communication in Spanish, the ability to work professionally with diverse stakeholders, attention to detail, and proficiency with virtual collaboration tools.
