Job Purpose
This Project Associate role supports the UNDP's Flood Recovery Programme (FRP) in Pakistan, a flagship initiative responding to the devastating 2022 floods. The assignment aims to assist the Government of Pakistan in its recovery and rehabilitation efforts by supporting the restoration of housing, community services, livelihoods, governance, and disaster preparedness. The Project Associate will contribute to the day-to-day implementation of project activities, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and consistency. This involves supporting the design and execution of initiatives, fostering collaboration with various stakeholders, and contributing to the overall success of the FRP in building a climate-resilient future for Pakistan.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will coordinate effective project planning and implementation by assisting in strategy development, preparing work and financial plans, and analyzing proposals. They will oversee field activities, produce monthly progress reports, and support the preparation of various project reports. The role involves contributing to the efficient management and monitoring of the project by assisting in drafting programme documents, work plans, and budgets, tracking financial resources, and preparing quarterly progress reports with financial analysis. The incumbent will monitor progress against goals, identify and manage emerging issues and risks, and conduct field visits. Additionally, the Project Associate will provide administrative guidance, manage logistical support for events, and develop strategic partnerships with government officials, development partners, NGOs, and beneficiaries. Facilitating knowledge building and sharing through organizing trainings and synthesizing lessons learned and best practices is also a key responsibility, alongside upholding human rights, gender equality, and diversity in all actions.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of experience is required, with at least one year of relevant experience in project management and implementation. Experience in developing effective partnerships with government counterparts, development partners, and civil society is essential. Proficiency in standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary. Experience in policy analysis, research, or reporting is considered an added advantage.
