This assignment is part of the global Climate Promise initiative, supporting the Dominican Republic's climate commitments and resilience. Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will support the UNDP's Environment and Climate Change team in the Dominican Republic, contributing to the Climate Promise initiative. The role involves coordinating and implementing activities to strengthen climate-resilient value chains for coffee and cocoa, specifically by establishing a financial mechanism (trust fund) for investment mobilization. The volunteer will facilitate partnerships, support institutional capacity building, promote sustainable practices, and contribute to national climate agenda advancement. This position is crucial for mobilizing sustainable finance and implementing climate adaptation and mitigation actions within the specified project timeframe.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will coordinate and plan activities for establishing an investment trust fund for coffee and cocoa value chains in the Dominican Republic, developing its operational framework. Responsibilities include providing technical, administrative, and institutional support for the trust fund's implementation and consolidation. The role involves managing coordination with government entities, financial institutions, producer organizations, and other strategic actors to foster partnerships. The volunteer will support identifying financing opportunities, mobilizing resources, and tracking initiatives for the trust fund. They will also coordinate consultants and partners, organize meetings and workshops, and prepare technical reports and project documentation. Administrative processes, information management, and field visits are also key duties to ensure project execution and achievement of results.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of professional experience in coordinating and implementing sustainable development, climate change, rural development, agribusiness, or development finance projects is required. Experience in coordinating diverse stakeholders, including government, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society, is essential. Proven ability in project planning, organization, and monitoring, including budget and work plan management, is necessary. Experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues, workshops, and preparing high-quality technical reports is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools is expected.

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are needed to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
