Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bolivia works to close development gaps and promote sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development aligned with national agendas and the Sustainable Development Goals. As the Principal Recipient for Global Fund resources for Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV programs, UNDP manages these funds through its Project Execution Unit. The current project focuses on strengthening integrated and sustainable TB/HIV responses, aiming to reduce the burden of TB and its social determinants through multisectoral collaboration.
Job Purpose
This assignment supports the implementation, adaptation, and strengthening of the TB component's Urban Strategy. The role involves analyzing information, identifying gaps, monitoring interventions, and generating evidence for decision-making in coordination with the National Program for Infectious Diseases (PNEI) and subnational actors. The objective is to decrease the high burden of tuberculosis and its social determinants by fostering articulated efforts between multisectoral management levels and civil society, respecting human rights to improve the quality of life for affected individuals and the general population.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support the National Program for Infectious Diseases in managing Tuberculosis (TB) supplies. Key duties include assisting in the quantification, programming, and planning of TB supply needs; preparing technical specifications and documentation for procurement processes; managing product registration and batch release documentation; and facilitating technical and regulatory processes with the State Agency for Medicines and Health Technologies (AGEMED). The role also involves planning, coordinating, and executing the national distribution of TB medicines, reagents, and medical supplies, ensuring compliance with logistical procedures, proper storage, and transport conditions. Responsibilities extend to maintaining updated records of consumption and stock in information systems, consolidating national and subnational logistics data, monitoring stock levels and expiry dates, identifying risks, and generating technical reports for national and international stakeholders.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of general work experience in health is required. Specifically, three years of experience in the logistics management of health supplies is necessary.
