Job Purpose
The Partnership Analyst will support the UNOPS Papua New Guinea Country Office in identifying and developing emerging business and partnership opportunities. This role involves conducting research on partner strategies and market trends, assisting in the drafting of concept notes and proposals, and supporting high-level discussions with stakeholders. The analyst will also contribute to communications and outreach efforts to enhance UNOPS' visibility in PNG. The position reports to the Country Manager and receives support from the UNOPS Southeast Asia and Pacific Multi-Country Office, contributing to resource mobilization and the effective delivery of UNOPS projects in the region.
Responsibilities
The Partnership Analyst will focus on Strategic Partnerships/Business Development by researching partner strategies, market trends, and updating profiles. This includes supporting the development and drafting of concept notes, proposals, and presentations. The role involves assisting in scheduling, preparing background materials, and taking minutes for high-level discussions with funding partners and government counterparts. The analyst will also follow up on country-specific partnerships, facilitate events, and screen business opportunities for UNOPS in PNG. Additionally, the role encompasses Communications, Visibility, and Outreach by identifying opportunities to increase UNOPS' recognition in PNG to support business development. This includes supporting promotional events, drafting external communications (news stories, newsletters, web content), and ensuring data quality. The analyst will also undertake other communication tasks as directed to support resource mobilization activities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in partnership development, business development, programme management, resource mobilization, communications, donor relations, or international development is required. Experience in researching donor priorities, analyzing trends, preparing proposals, and supporting high-level meetings is essential. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and organizational skills are necessary. Experience within the UN system or international organizations is desirable, as is knowledge of Papua New Guinea's development context.
