Job Purpose
This role as a "Jeunes Champions de l'Unicef" (UNICEF Youth Champions) offers young individuals learning opportunities focused on youth engagement and exposure to UNICEF's diverse programs. The assignment aims to foster a deeper understanding of UNICEF's functions and development communication activities. Champions will support UNICEF programs by identifying youth support structures, participating in briefings and training, and assisting youth in creating U-Report communities and action plans for positive community change. This role is crucial for documenting community activities and supporting strategies to recruit young girls onto UNICEF's digital platforms, thereby empowering them with vital information and promoting their rights.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Development Communication Officer, Youth Champions will:
* Participate in all UNICEF programs (education, health, protection, nutrition, WASH) to gain knowledge of UNICEF's functions.
* Engage in development communication activities.
* Support UNICEF programs by identifying structures that provide support to young people.
* Participate in briefings and training sessions designed for youth regarding relevant UNICEF programs.
* Assist youth in establishing U-Report communities and developing action plans to drive positive change within their communities.
* Support the documentation of activities undertaken by these youth communities.
* Contribute to the strategy for recruiting young girls onto UNICEF's digital platforms, ensuring they receive vital information.
* Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required. However, 6 months of relevant experience in implementing volunteer activities within a community is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to make a positive community impact, possess the ability to prioritize and analyze problems effectively, and communicate ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
