Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant (AAP/CFM) will serve as a focal point for accountability to affected populations and support feedback mechanisms within communities in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role is crucial in enhancing community engagement and ensuring that WFP's interventions are responsive to the needs and concerns of the people it assists. The incumbent will facilitate access to and understanding of AAP and CFM principles, thereby strengthening the effectiveness and inclusivity of WFP's humanitarian response in a complex environment marked by security, social, and climate challenges.
Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will support the implementation of AAP, Protection, and CFM activities at the community level. Key duties include raising community awareness about their rights, WFP services, and complaint mechanisms; organizing community meetings and consultations; and gathering beneficiary feedback. The role involves informing communities about available feedback channels, assisting in the registration of feedback and complaints, and directing beneficiaries to appropriate channels. Additionally, the assistant will monitor the accessibility of mechanisms for vulnerable groups, alert supervisors to sensitive complaints, and participate in simple data collection from communities. The position also entails contributing to the identification of local needs and risks, reporting on service access difficulties, and supporting field activity monitoring. Promoting inclusive participation of vulnerable groups, raising awareness on abuse prevention, identifying access barriers, and fostering respectful dialogue are also core responsibilities. Finally, the assistant will support local partners in their community interactions and participate in community sensitization sessions on AAP, Protection, and complaint mechanisms.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of work experience is required, with 6 months of relevant experience being desirable. Experience with NGOs or humanitarian projects, familiarity with indigenous contexts, and sensitivity to gender and protection issues are advantageous. Basic data collection skills are also beneficial. Practical knowledge of English and local languages is an asset.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with communities, demonstrating listening skills and empathy. Integrity, respect for confidentiality, teamwork, and a motivation for volunteerism are essential. Expertise in community development and crisis/emergency response is also noted.
