Graphic Design Support for the National Youth Summit

The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is a statutory body dedicated to coordinating and promoting youth development initiatives across Malawi. It empowers young people through opportunities in participation, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and skills development. Job Purpose

The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is organizing the 2026 National Youth Summit, a key event focused on investment, partnership, and scalable solutions for youth employment and innovation, aligning with Malawi 2063. This role is crucial for establishing a professional and cohesive brand identity for the summit. The volunteer will produce high-quality visual materials for extensive online and offline publicity campaigns. These designs will be utilized across all NYCOM digital channels, partner communications, and during the summit itself, significantly enhancing its visibility and overall impact.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Media and Publicity Committee, the Online Volunteers will be responsible for producing design proposals for a variety of digital and print materials for the National Youth Summit. This includes creating visually appealing assets for online and offline publicity campaigns. The designs will be applied across NYCOM's digital platforms, in communications with partners, and during the summit event. Key duties involve developing creative concepts, executing designs according to brand guidelines, and ensuring all materials are professional and impactful. The volunteers will work collaboratively to meet the visual communication needs of the summit.

Work Experience

Professional experience in graphic design is required, supported by a strong portfolio. Previous experience in designing document layouts and social media assets is also necessary. Familiarity with graphic design applications, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite, is expected.

Skills

Proficiency in graphic design applications, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to meet deadlines. A professional portfolio showcasing design capabilities is a key requirement. The ability to work collaboratively and produce impactful visual materials is also important.
