The ITH focuses on IT support, cybersecurity, and training, aiming to deliver robust and sustainable digital services across the UN Secretariat and beyond. This role contributes to SDG 9 by fostering innovation and developing modern digital infrastructure.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to enhance user-centered digital learning solutions at the UN's India Technology Hub (ITH). As the ITH expands its Learning Management System (LMS) platforms and digital training applications, high-quality user interface and graphic design are crucial for creating accessible, engaging, and intuitive learning experiences for UN system users. Online Volunteers will develop user-friendly interfaces and visual assets, collaborating with developers and instructional designers to improve usability, accessibility, and visual consistency, thereby contributing to more effective and inclusive training resources.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will support UI/UX Design and Graphics/Visual Content Creation. For UI/UX, responsibilities include designing user-friendly interfaces for LMS modules and digital applications, prioritizing accessibility and usability, and creating wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to ensure visual consistency and engagement. For Graphics and Visual Content, tasks involve developing visual assets like icons, banners, and layouts to support educational content while maintaining brand consistency. Both roles require collaboration with developers and instructional designers, conducting user testing for design refinement, and potentially participating in virtual coordination meetings.
Work Experience
While specific years of experience are not detailed, candidates should possess a basic understanding of design tools (Adobe suite, Figma) and fundamental knowledge in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, and Digital Content Development. The ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team and incorporate feedback is also essential.
Skills
