Job Purpose
This assignment supports UNICEF Asia Pacific’s Communication and Advocacy team by managing and enhancing the organization's digital presence. The incumbent will be responsible for showcasing the needs and voices of children in the region and highlighting UNICEF's work through social media and the corporate website. This involves implementing an integrated digital communication strategy, managing platforms like Facebook, X, and YouTube, and creating engaging content. The role aims to strengthen advocacy, partnerships, and brand affinity across the region by effectively communicating UNICEF's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
The Digital Communication Officer will manage UNICEF APRO's social media channels (Facebook, X, YouTube) by developing weekly content plans, drafting, scheduling, and monitoring posts, and engaging with online communities. This includes social media listening to track conversations, manage risks, and identify opportunities. A significant part of the role (50%) involves content production for web and social media, supporting the development of a regional content strategy. This includes conceptualizing and creating engaging content (video, visuals, captions, infographics) in collaboration with specialists, targeting various audiences. The role also involves running capacity-building sessions on content creation, staying updated on digital trends, supporting donor visibility, developing relationships with digital influencers, and maintaining the digital assets library.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required. This includes a proven track record in creating compelling digital content for diverse audiences, with experience in video production, graphic design, copywriting, marketing, and monitoring. Proficiency in English writing and editing, familiarity with digital communication trends, and experience with analytics tools are essential. Knowledge of global affairs and human rights issues, particularly concerning children, is also important.
