UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child. In the Pacific, UNICEF works across 14 island countries, many of which are classified as fragile states. These nations face unique challenges due to their geography and development status. UNICEF Pacific, in partnership with governments and regional organizations, is organizing a significant youth climate dialogue event.
Job Purpose
This role supports the PreCOP Australia and Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue (PreCOP APYCD) event by providing essential graphic design services. The purpose is to develop a strong visual identity that resonates with Pacific youth and climate themes. The graphic design will be crucial for event branding, communications materials, and merchandise. The work directly contributes to amplifying youth voices on climate change, ensuring their perspectives inform regional and global climate action discussions leading up to COP31 and COP32.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will create graphic design assets for the PreCOP APYCD event. This includes designing a primary logo with multiple variants, developing a set of textures, patterns, and/or iconography reflecting Pacific identity and climate themes for various communication materials and merchandise. The volunteer will also provide guidance on the event's color palette and typography. Collaboration will occur online with the UNICEF Pacific Climate Team, involving a kick-off call, a midpoint check-in, and prompt email communication. Deliverables include initial concept presentations and final, print- and web-ready files in editable formats.
Work Experience
Required experience includes demonstrated graphic design skills, with prior experience in designing logos, iconography, or style guides. Proficiency in graphic design applications is essential. Experience working with Pacific or Pasifika organizations is considered an asset. Candidates based in the Pacific are encouraged to apply.
