Report Developer/Data Analyst
Organizational Context
The World Health Organization (WHO) leads global public health efforts, aiming to promote health, ensure safety, and serve vulnerable populations through partnerships. Within WHO, the Meeting and Travel Services (MTS) Business Support Team streamlines meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense management. This role supports MTS operations, focusing on efficient technical writing, knowledge management, and training to ensure the system's effective day-to-day functioning and continuous improvement.
Job Purpose
This assignment supports the World Health Organization's Meeting and Travel Services (MTS) by developing and maintaining reports for newly implemented systems. The role is crucial for streamlining meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense management. The incumbent will contribute to the effective day-to-day functioning of MTS by providing user support, ensuring data accuracy, and enhancing reporting processes. The position aims to leverage data analysis and reporting tools to generate actionable insights, support decision-making, and improve overall system efficiency and user experience within the MTS framework.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will design, develop, and automate reports for WHO's Meeting and Travel systems using tools like Cognos, Power BI, SQL, and Excel. Key duties include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security. Responsibilities also encompass presenting findings clearly for decision-making, developing and maintaining dashboards, performing data analysis and visualization, and troubleshooting/optimizing existing reports. Additionally, the incumbent will document reporting processes and methodologies, and train end-users on report and dashboard utilization.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is required for candidates with a secondary education diploma. Three years of relevant experience is required for candidates holding a bachelor's degree. Knowledge of UN system procedures is advantageous. Experience within WHO or another UN agency, proficiency in report development, data analysis, business intelligence tools (SQL, Power BI, Cognos, Excel), and strong analytical skills are desirable.
