Job Purpose
This assignment seeks to strengthen strategic decision-making and partnership development within the United Nations system in Yemen. Online Volunteers will contribute by generating evidence-based insights to support future collaboration and volunteer mobilization. The ultimate goal is to advance sustainable development outcomes in Yemen through enhanced understanding of UN programmes, funding trends, and partnership opportunities. The insights gained will inform strategic planning and resource allocation, fostering a more coordinated and effective UN presence.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting strategic partnership intelligence gathering for UNV Yemen to expand volunteer opportunities. Key responsibilities include reviewing publicly available information from UN agencies in Yemen (websites, programme documents, reports, strategic frameworks), and analyzing UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks (UNSDCFs), Country Programme Documents (CPDs), and strategic plans. Volunteers will map ongoing programmes, projects, and thematic priorities across UN agencies, collecting and organizing data on programme objectives, timelines, activities, outcomes, budgets, funding, HR policies, geographic coverage, and target populations. The role culminates in preparing concise analytical summaries, a comprehensive programme and partnership intelligence matrix, and a final briefing report with key findings and recommendations.
Work Experience
Previous experience in programme management or development studies is required. Experience with data collection and information management tools is also necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and online collaboration platforms is expected. An interest in international development, humanitarian action, partnerships, or UN programming is desirable.
