Visual Design Support for National Focal Points
Organizational Context
The International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026), declared by the UN, aims to elevate volunteerism as a crucial driver for sustainable development. Launching on International Volunteer Day 2025, IVY 2026 calls upon global stakeholders to champion all forms of volunteerism, foster inclusive policies, and ensure volunteer contributions are recognized. This initiative strengthens visibility and enabling environments for volunteerism worldwide, engaging National Focal Points and partners to showcase volunteer impact.
Job Purpose
The International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026) seeks to recognize volunteerism as a vital force for sustainable development, urging governments, organizations, and communities globally to champion its diverse forms. As National Focal Points implement IVY 2026 through various campaigns and communication products, there is a critical need for volunteer support. The purpose of this assignment is to enhance the consistent and accessible visibility of IVY 2026 initiatives across countries. The volunteer will achieve this by developing adaptable visual templates and communication materials, enabling National Focal Points to effectively localize and reuse them for their outreach and engagement activities. This contribution will ensure broader recognition and impact of volunteer efforts.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will undertake several key responsibilities to bolster the visual communication efforts for the International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026) activities led by National Focal Points. A primary duty involves the design and creation of 3-5 distinct visual products. These products are crucial for various outreach and engagement activities and may encompass a range of materials such as visual assets strictly aligned with UNV and IVY 2026 branding guidance, or editable templates specifically for social media posts, comprehensive presentations, impactful event banners, and informative materials.
A significant aspect of this role is to support the adaptation of these newly created visuals for deployment across different formats and diverse digital and print platforms. This ensures broad applicability and reach. The volunteer must meticulously ensure that all developed materials are not only visually clear and engaging but also highly accessible and culturally suitable for a wide array of international audiences, reflecting the global nature of IVY 2026.
Furthermore, the volunteer will engage in active collaboration with the IVY coordination team. This collaborative effort is essential for incorporating feedback received during review stages and for the subsequent finalization of all visual products, ensuring they meet strategic objectives. Finally, a critical organizational responsibility includes the systematic organization of all design files and the establishment and maintenance of a simple, yet effective, asset library. This library will serve as a central repository, facilitating easy access and reuse of visual elements, thereby promoting consistency and efficiency in future communication endeavors for IVY 2026.
