Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this assignment is to significantly enhance the Ann Foundation's online presence by revitalizing its existing website. The current site contains outdated content and lacks an engaging presentation, hindering its effectiveness in communicating the Foundation's mission. The volunteer will contribute by developing a fresh, modern aesthetic and improved functionality for the site, utilizing clean, testable, and efficient code. This involves a comprehensive review to identify and implement approved enhancements across visual design, user experience, functionality, and overall performance. The expected contribution is to create a dynamic and informative website that accurately reflects the Foundation's educational programs and history, thereby strengthening its capacity to empower children and youth globally.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will undertake a comprehensive review of the Ann Foundation's website, meticulously identifying areas for significant improvement in its visual design, overall user experience, core functionality, and performance. A primary responsibility involves the development and implementation of approved enhancements, aiming to give the website a fresh, contemporary, and highly engaging look, meticulously crafted using clean, testable, and efficient code. This encompasses conducting a thorough website audit, strategically prioritizing and executing agreed-upon improvements, and proactively resolving any identified technical issues to ensure seamless and optimal site operation. Furthermore, the role mandates optimizing page load speeds and guaranteeing robust cross-browser compatibility to maximize user accessibility across various platforms. The volunteer is also tasked with diligently documenting all changes made to the website. Regular, detailed progress updates must be provided bi-weekly, ensuring all assigned deliverables are completed precisely within the agreed 12-week project timeline and consistently adhere to specified quality standards.

Work Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in web development and coding, specifically for custom websites.

Skills

Required technical skills include proficiency in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with server-side languages for full-stack roles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for debugging technical issues and optimizing web architecture. Expertise in version control is also necessary.
