Organizational Context
The World Health Organization (WHO) is mandated to set public health norms, conduct research, provide training, and offer technical assistance, surveillance, and emergency aid for major epidemics. WHO has a long history of disease eradication efforts, including polio in Benin. In Benin, WHO, in collaboration with UNV and the Ministry of Health, is launching the "Generation Without Tobacco" digital campaign for World No Tobacco Day 2026. This initiative aims to raise awareness among youth about tobacco dangers and promote a tobacco-free environment.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to support the "Generation Without Tobacco" digital campaign, a joint initiative by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme in Benin, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Ministry of Health in Benin. Launched for World No Tobacco Day 2026, the campaign seeks to educate young people about the health risks associated with all forms of tobacco, including cigarettes, shisha, and e-cigarettes. The goal is to foster healthy behaviors and encourage strong civic engagement towards creating a tobacco-free environment. Online volunteers will be mobilized to create compelling visuals, ensuring widespread dissemination of awareness messages and building a national digital movement around the #229SansTabac hashtag.
Responsibilities
The online volunteers will be responsible for the graphic design of 14 visuals for the #GénérationSansTabac awareness campaign. This involves developing creative and attractive concepts and designs that are directly aligned with the campaign's theme and messages. All visual outputs must strictly adhere to the branding guidelines of both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health. The role requires experienced and creative individuals to ensure the visuals effectively communicate the campaign's objectives and resonate with the target audience.
Work Experience
Candidates must possess good experience in graphic design and strong visual communication skills.
Skills
Required skills include proficiency in major graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Canvas, and Photoshop. Candidates must also demonstrate strong knowledge of graphic design principles specifically for digital media. Native-level French language proficiency is essential for this role.
