Job Purpose
This role supports UNICEF Malawi's global online awareness campaign for the Africa Foundational Learning Exchange (FLEX) 2026. FLEX is a significant platform for African countries to exchange knowledge on foundational learning, aiming to end learning poverty by 2035. The campaign's purpose is to maximize the summit's visibility and generate widespread global interest and digital engagement. The volunteer will contribute to raising awareness about the event's objectives and the critical importance of foundational learning across Africa through strategic online dissemination of campaign materials.
Responsibilities
Disseminate pre-approved campaign materials, graphics, and key messages across various social media platforms to raise awareness for the FLEX 2026 summit. Support the communication team in driving the global digital awareness campaign. Ensure all promotional activities strictly adhere to provided guidelines and utilize only pre-approved content. Avoid altering messaging, redesigning graphics, or using UNICEF branding without authorization. Refrain from engaging in debates, political discussions, or responding to hostile comments on behalf of UNICEF or the FLEX organizing committee. The primary goal is to generate widespread public interest and digital engagement globally leading up to and during the event.
Work Experience
Candidates must be highly active on social media platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and possess a basic understanding of digital networking and online promotion. Prior experience in online advocacy, digital marketing, or supporting NGO campaigns is considered an asset.
Skills
Proficiency in using major social media platforms. Basic understanding of digital networking and online promotion strategies. Strong interest in global education, international development, and foundational learning. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to guidelines for content dissemination. Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French or Portuguese is desirable.
