Job Purpose
This role supports UNDP Mozambique's Inclusive Growth Unit by providing essential graphic design and visual communication services for a high-level Multi-Stakeholder Breakfast Dialogue. The event aims to co-design solutions for Mozambique's development financing gap, bringing together senior representatives from diverse sectors. The volunteer's contribution is crucial for creating a professional and well-branded event experience, ensuring all participants have the necessary materials for effective engagement. The assignment involves designing a comprehensive suite of materials, from invitations and programme booklets to on-site signage and post-event communication assets, all adhering to UNDP brand guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Online UN Volunteer will provide graphic design and visual communication support for a Multi-Stakeholder Breakfast Dialogue on Financing Development in Mozambique. Key responsibilities include designing pre-event materials such as save-the-date cards, bilingual invitation letters, RSVP and reminder email templates, a participant programme booklet, thematic table guiding question cards, table signs, a welcome banner, directional signage, name badges, and promotional header images. Post-event, the volunteer will design a social media graphic and a layout template for the summary brief. All materials must adhere to UNDP Mozambique's brand guidelines, be delivered in print-ready PDF and editable source files, and primarily be in Portuguese with bilingual elements where necessary. Proactive communication regarding deadlines and incorporation of feedback are expected.
Work Experience
Professional experience in graphic design is required, with a focus on designing document layouts. Experience with event, conference, or institutional communications is preferred. Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or Illustrator is necessary. Prior experience with UN agencies, NGOs, or development organizations is advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator). Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to brand guidelines. Excellent visual communication skills. Ability to manage multiple design tasks under time pressure. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Portuguese is a strong asset.
