Support WEPs Survey Follow-up, Reporting and Action Tracking
Organizational Context
UN Women, guided by the UN Charter, works to eliminate discrimination against women and girls, empower them, and achieve gender equality as partners in development, human rights, and peace. In India, UN Women strengthens engagement with over 500 Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) signatories. This involves supporting companies in moving from commitment to implementation through improved reporting and sharing good practices, contributing to SDG 5 and 17.
Job Purpose
The Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a framework by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, guide businesses in advancing gender equality in the workplace, marketplace, and community. India has over 500 WEPs signatories, forming one of the largest global communities. UN Women India aims to strengthen engagement with these signatories, supporting their transition from commitment to active implementation through enhanced reporting, WEPs tool utilization, and sharing best practices. A national WEPs survey is being conducted to capture company actions, assess progress, and identify further engagement opportunities. This assignment involves supporting survey follow-up, reporting verification, and action tracking, thereby contributing to stronger private sector accountability and advancing SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Under the guidance of the Private Sector Officer, the Online Volunteer will support UN Women India's efforts to strengthen WEPs implementation and reporting.
