M&E and Reporting Expert
Organizational Context

This project specifically focuses on enhancing the operational capacity of the Ports of Aden and Mukalla in Yemen through facility rehabilitation and equipment procurement, ensuring efficient humanitarian aid delivery.
Job Purpose
This role supports the project to strengthen the operational capacity of the Ports of Aden and Mukalla by contributing to the rehabilitation of damaged facilities and the procurement of necessary equipment. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni population. The assignment is based in Amman, Jordan, with necessary travel to Yemen. The expert will play a crucial role in monitoring project progress, ensuring data quality, analyzing performance against indicators, and providing recommendations for program improvement, ultimately enhancing the project's impact and stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
The M&E and Reporting Expert will design and implement data collection and reporting protocols, ensuring data quality and tracking project progress against outcome indicators. This includes conducting field visits to verify data accuracy, analyzing data against the logical framework and Annual Work Plan (AWP), and interpreting implementation outcomes to provide program recommendations. The role involves drafting quarterly and annual reports, assisting in monitoring milestones, and supporting special events like donor engagement. Additionally, the expert will contribute to visibility and communications by collaborating with UNDP units to develop and disseminate project-related materials, writing content for various platforms. Knowledge management is key, involving facilitating learning agendas, documenting best practices, and generating M&E products. The expert will also network with counterparts and engage in communities of practice to share learnings and stay updated on M&E best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) or results-based management and reporting. Experience with M&E systems, working within development agencies (preferably in government systems), and strong analytical and writing skills for concept notes and reports are essential. Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, and teamwork skills are also necessary, along with the ability to function effectively in international, multicultural environments.
