The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's global development network, dedicated to helping countries build a better life by connecting them to knowledge, experience, and resources. The UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) provides strategic, advisory, and operational support to UNDP Country Offices within the Europe and CIS region. The UN Volunteer will be a key member of the IRH Human Resources team, contributing to bridging capacity gaps and ensuring effective HR services.
Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will serve as an integral part of the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub's Human Resources (HR) team, providing essential day-to-day administrative and operational assistance. This role is crucial for addressing current capacity limitations and supporting the entire lifecycle of recruitment and onboarding processes. The volunteer will help maintain accurate HR data and ensure that the IRH workforce receives timely and effective HR support, contributing to the smooth functioning of HR operations within the region.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the UNDP IRH Human Resources (HR) Associate, the UN Volunteer will provide clerical assistance to ensure the smooth running of HR processes and activities. Key duties include supporting the recruitment process by circulating vacancy announcements, arranging interviews, preparing necessary materials for interviews and technical tests, assisting with reference checks, and communicating with candidates. The role also involves managing internships and performing other related duties as assigned to support the HR team's objectives.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of required experience is specified, with 2 years of relevant experience being desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Outlook) is essential. Prior experience with Oracle is an advantage. Attention to detail, methodical organization, discretion, client-orientation, patience, and a willingness to learn are important. Previous work experience in international humanitarian organizations or in a multicultural setting is beneficial.
