UNICEF Ukraine, established in 1997 and based in Kyiv, significantly scaled up its humanitarian response following the escalation of the war. The Country Office works across multiple sectors including child protection, education, health, nutrition, WASH, and social protection. It collaborates with the Government, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors to achieve results for children. The Partnerships team is crucial for resource mobilization and donor relations, managing diverse portfolios to sustain and expand the response for conflict-affected children.
Job Purpose
The Partnerships Officer will support the UNICEF Ukraine Country Office's Partnerships team in resource mobilization, donor relations, and reporting. This role is vital for securing reliable income and influencing outcomes for children affected by the conflict. The incumbent will contribute to sustaining and expanding UNICEF's response by assisting in donor reporting, drafting proposals and communications, managing knowledge and records, and conducting research on donors and partners. This position operates at the intersection of resource mobilization and programme quality, directly impacting the office's ability to meet its objectives.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Officer will assist in donor reporting by drafting and proofreading reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency with proposals and templates, and cross-checking financial and narrative data. They will coordinate inputs from various sections to gather data and updates for reports, proposals, and communications, and draft sections of concept notes, project proposals, and donor correspondence. The role involves maintaining up-to-date filing and tracking systems for grants, pipelines, and reporting calendars, and taking meeting notes. Additionally, the officer will conduct background research on prospective and existing donors, including their funding priorities and engagement with UNICEF, and help maintain updated donor profiles to track funding trends relevant to Ukraine.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required in areas such as public affairs, programme management, resource mobilization, or external relations. Experience in drafting and editing professional documents, conducting research, coordinating stakeholder inputs, and working within the UN system or international development organizations is highly desirable. Familiarity with multicultural environments is also beneficial.
Skills
Key skills include strong attention to detail, excellent drafting, editing, and proofreading abilities in English, and professionalism in document production. The role requires the ability to organize tasks, manage deadlines, and work with data and budgets at a support level. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management platforms is essential. Collaboration, flexibility, self-motivation, and a genuine interest in humanitarian issues and donor engagement are also important.
