Job Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to bolster UN Women Kazakhstan's digital communications and advocacy efforts by creating compelling visual content. The Online Volunteers will play a crucial role in developing creative materials for social media campaigns, international observances, and various advocacy initiatives. This content will be instrumental in increasing public awareness and engagement regarding gender equality and women's empowerment. By producing social media visuals, infographics, and short videos, the volunteers will help effectively communicate UN Women's vital work and its impact within Kazakhstan, promoting key messages on women's rights, leadership, economic empowerment, and combating violence against women and girls. This support is essential for strengthening the organization's digital footprint and outreach.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Communications Focal Point, the Online Volunteers will significantly contribute to UN Women Kazakhstan's digital content creation. Key responsibilities include editing 6-10 short videos and reels for social media campaigns and awareness initiatives, ensuring dynamic and engaging visual storytelling. Volunteers will also design 8-12 social media cards, carousel posts, and other visual content for UN international days, events, and advocacy campaigns, aligning with strategic communication goals. Furthermore, they will create 2-4 infographics and data visualizations, translating complex reports and statistics into clear, impactful visuals. A crucial task involves transforming existing communication materials, such as reports, press releases, and event summaries, into engaging digital formats suitable for various online platforms. All produced content must strictly adhere to UN Women's branding and communication guidelines, maintaining a consistent and professional image. Depending on individual profiles, volunteers may specialize in video editing, graphic design, or infographic development, collaborating to enhance the organization's digital presence and advocacy reach.
Work Experience
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in graphic design, visual communications, multimedia production, or video editing. This includes proficiency in creating digital content for social media, such as short-form videos, graphics, infographics, and visual storytelling products. Experience in transforming complex information into engaging visual content is also required.
Skills
Required skills include proficiency in design and video editing tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro. Candidates need excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines remotely. Strong visual storytelling, creativity, and communication skills are highly desired. Familiarity with video subtitling, motion graphics, AI-assisted creative tools, or digital content optimization is an asset. Fluent English and Russian are required, with working knowledge of Kazakh being desirable.
