Job Purpose
This role supports Action Lab for Development's Entrepreneurship Support Program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at empowering underserved and immigrant communities. The program equips participants with future-ready skills, practical training, and access to entrepreneurial ecosystems to start, sustain, and grow businesses or secure employment. Volunteers will contribute by identifying potential donors, drafting outreach letters and partnership proposals, and writing tailored grant proposals. These efforts are crucial for securing the resources needed to advance the Association's mission of economic empowerment, ethical leadership, and sustainable enterprise development, ultimately fostering community capacity and long-term economic mobility.
Responsibilities
Three online volunteers are sought to support donor research, partner outreach, and grant proposal writing. One volunteer will focus on identifying and compiling information on potential foundations, businesses, and funding organizations aligned with the Association's programs, creating a structured donor database without direct contact. A second volunteer will draft professional introduction letters, partnership proposals, and thank-you letters, averaging 2-3 written deliverables weekly. The third volunteer will exclusively draft tailored grant proposals based on the research conducted, strictly adhering to donor guidelines for internal review. All drafted materials will reflect the Association's mission and objectives.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong research and writing skills. Experience with grant writing and creating formal correspondence is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to communicate effectively in writing, with attention to detail, and to work independently and be self-motivated are also key.
