Job Purpose
This assignment supports the UNDP Mexico's use of the eMonitor+ tool to monitor digital ecosystems. The goal is to identify, analyze, and visualize gender-based violence and electoral violence in online spaces. The collected evidence will inform public policy, strengthen institutional and civil society capacities, and promote sustainable prevention and response strategies. By systematically monitoring these phenomena, the initiative aims to enhance decision-making, contribute to preventing electoral violence, and support institutional actions to protect human rights and ensure free political participation.
Responsibilities
Support the annotation and classification of digital content collected by the eMonitor+ tool to identify hate speech, toxic communication, and gender-based violence online. Measure these expressions within the electoral context leading up to the 2027 elections. Review and classify publications based on defined project criteria and methodology. Participate in training on the tool and annotation guidelines. Contribute to creating annotated databases that will serve as input for subsequent analyses, early warnings, and institutional prevention and advocacy actions. Ensure balanced workload distribution if multiple volunteers are involved.
Work Experience
Desirable experience in information analysis and digital media monitoring. Experience with gender issues, feminisms, or gender-based violence is preferred. Knowledge of Mexico's political and social context, particularly regarding false narratives or disinformation, is beneficial. Experience in preparing technical documents and data analysis is also desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in Spanish (native level). Ability to analyze information and monitor digital media. Understanding of gender-based violence and its online manifestations. Familiarity with political and social contexts relevant to identifying disinformation. Skills in technical documentation and data analysis.
