Job Purpose
This international volunteer opportunity supports UNICEF Algeria's 2023-2027 cooperation program, focusing on accelerating SDG achievement for children and youth. The role is crucial for strengthening the office's data analysis, visualization, and decision-making capabilities. The volunteer will contribute to collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and interpreting programmatic and financial data. This includes developing innovative analytical solutions, potentially using AI, to enhance data-driven decision-making, improve information quality, and support planning, monitoring, and reporting exercises. Collaboration with various sections will ensure effective data utilization for strategic program management and improved child outcomes.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support the enhancement of data management, analysis, and visualization to aid planning, performance monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making. Key duties include consolidating, cleaning, and maintaining databases; ensuring data quality and reliability; applying advanced data analysis techniques, including AI; and automating data processing for efficiency. The role involves supporting the monitoring and analysis of cooperation program indicators, performance reviews, and results analysis, identifying trends and risks. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute to surveys, studies, and evidence generation, producing analyses and visualizations for programming and advocacy. Budgetary analysis, cross-referencing programmatic and financial data, and developing interactive dashboards and reporting tools using platforms like Power BI or Tableau are also core responsibilities.
Work Experience
Requires 1 month of experience, with 1 year of relevant professional experience in data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, or information management. Proficiency in advanced Excel and data analysis tools is essential. Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is required. Familiarity with data analysis languages/tools such as R or Python is a strong asset. Knowledge of statistical and analytical methods and experience producing reports and dashboards are necessary. Experience within the UN system or development sector is desirable.
Skills

Technical skills encompass data analysis, data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), advanced Excel, and potentially R or Python.
