Job Purpose
This UNV assignment supports an UNFPA project in Guinea focused on enhancing maternal and neonatal health services and combating gender-based violence (GBV) through the digitalization of healthcare systems in a humanitarian context. The project addresses challenges posed by recurrent floods and epidemics like Mpox. The role involves contributing to project planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring effective delivery of services and capacity building for healthcare providers. The volunteer will play a key role in improving results-based programming, enhancing coordination, and documenting project achievements, with a specific focus on age, gender, and diversity perspectives in emergency data management.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer Project Officer will support the UNFPA Country Representative and Project Coordinator in planning and implementing project activities, including developing quarterly work plans and ensuring quality assurance. Responsibilities include technical and financial monitoring, developing and implementing a project monitoring and evaluation plan with integrated indicators, and collecting/analyzing project data. The role involves preparing semi-annual and annual project reports, participating in stakeholder meetings, and supporting project reviews to identify best practices and lessons learned. The volunteer will also contribute to capacity development through coaching and on-the-job training for national staff and healthcare providers, ensuring the systematic application of age, gender, and diversity perspectives in all activities and documenting achievements for emergency data management.
Work Experience
Requires at least one month of experience, with a preference for five years of national or international professional experience in humanitarian project management, monitoring and evaluation, or project management with governmental structures or relevant programs. Experience in a humanitarian context or with UN/international development organizations is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office and database management is expected.
Skills

Expertise in communication and development programs is also required. The role demands excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
