Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate will support FAO Nepal's efforts in achieving the 2030 Agenda and its Strategic Framework. The role involves assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of project log frames and M&E frameworks. The associate will collect and track project progress, achievements, challenges, and risks, contributing to management meetings and internal/external reports. This position is crucial for ensuring effective operations, developing M&E tools, supporting field monitoring, and documenting project outcomes, innovations, and best practices to enhance FAO's impact in Nepal.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the FAO Representative and M&E Specialist, the incumbent will assist in developing, updating, monitoring, and reporting on project log frames and M&E frameworks. Key duties include collecting, consolidating, and tracking project progress, achievements, challenges, and risks for various meetings and reports. The role involves assisting in the preparation of consolidated delivery plans and monitoring the status of operational and pipeline projects within FAO systems. Responsibilities also extend to maintaining and updating project monitoring databases, indicator tracking systems, and beneficiary records. The associate will aid in developing M&E tools, data collection instruments, and reporting templates, and participate in field monitoring visits for data verification and results validation. Furthermore, the position supports the documentation and dissemination of project achievements, innovations, best practices, and lessons learned.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of experience is required, with a preference for at least 2 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs with UN/I/NGOs or relevant institutions. Experience in designing and implementing M&E systems, conducting assessments/surveys, report writing, and technical document preparation is advantageous. Proficiency in computer skills including Excel, SPSS, Kobo, MS Word, and PowerPoint is necessary.
