This role operates within the OICT's Innovation Unit, focusing on leveraging technology for sustainable development.

Job Purpose

This assignment aims to identify and test data analytics and artificial intelligence models using socio-economic and geo-spatial data. The volunteer will design and prototype user interfaces for UN personnel to effectively utilize these models. The role involves collaborating with the OICT Innovation Unit and a global team of UN personnel, integrating feedback to refine research and testing processes for innovative solutions in Geo-Spatial Analytics and AI for sustainable development.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will evaluate and utilize software for UN innovation projects, engaging in rapid tool testing, solution prototyping, and AI-assisted coding. Key deliverables include analyzing user and system requirements, developing data analytics and artificial intelligence models with provided data, and designing/prototyping user interfaces for UN personnel. The role requires collaboration with a global team, sharing insights, and integrating feedback to enhance research and testing processes for technological solutions.

Work Experience

A strong background in web development, data science, and artificial intelligence, or a related field, is required. Experience in communicating complex technical concepts effectively, both written and spoken, is also necessary. A commitment to sustainable development and the ethical use of technology is expected.
