Organizational Context
The UN Development Programme (UNDP) operates in 170 countries, focusing on poverty eradication, reducing inequalities, and fostering sustainable development, democratic governance, and climate resilience. In Madagascar, UNDP supports the national chapter of YouthConnekt Africa, an initiative connecting African youth to economic, technological, and civic opportunities. This chapter implements programs like 'Tanora Mandrafitra ny Hoaviny' and 'Girls’ Empowerment', reaching thousands of young people with training and awareness campaigns.
Job Purpose
The UNDP in Madagascar seeks an Audiovisual Expert to enhance the visibility and impact of the YouthConnekt Africa national chapter's activities. The expert will develop high-quality communication products, including two synthesis films and various digital content formats for social media. This role is crucial for documenting and showcasing the achievements, results, and impact of YouthConnekt programs in Madagascar. The produced content will highlight beneficiary journeys, supported initiatives, partnerships, and overall impact, contributing to the program's valorization ahead of the upcoming YouthConnekt Africa Summit in 2026.
Responsibilities
The Audiovisual Expert will be responsible for the end-to-end production of communication materials under the supervision of the UNDP Madagascar Communications team and in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This includes conducting field missions across Madagascar to capture photos and videos of activities, beneficiaries, and partners, and collecting testimonials. The expert will manage rushes, develop scripts and storyboards, and perform narrative editing, audio post-production (cleaning, mixing, synchronization), and color grading. Responsibilities also involve designing and integrating graphic elements, creating social media formats (reels, stories, teasers), and ensuring final products meet technical and editorial standards for web, TV, and event projection. Archiving all source files and final products is also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in photography, videography, editing, and audiovisual post-production is required. This includes demonstrated expertise in integrating B-roll, graphic design for video, and creating social media formats. Proven experience in institutional and digital audiovisual production, including sound management and proficiency with professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects), is essential. Experience in a development context or with international organizations is advantageous.
