Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this assignment is to provide essential translation and editing services for UNDP Programme documents. The volunteer will translate documents between English and Russian, ensuring accuracy and clarity in both languages. This includes editing and proofreading to maintain high quality standards. The volume of translation work will be determined in consultation with the selected candidate, offering a flexible contribution to UNDP's communication and documentation needs within the specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will be responsible for providing comprehensive translation services, converting UNDP Programme documents from English to Russian and vice versa. This includes meticulous editing and proofreading to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and stylistic appropriateness of the translated content. The role requires adherence to UNDP's editorial standards, including specific terminology, structure, and formatting guidelines. Maintaining institutional branding and communication standards is crucial. The volunteer must demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure coherence and quality across all bilingual versions of the documents, effectively managing large texts.

Work Experience

Experience in translating technical or analytical publications is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience within UN agencies, international organizations, or similar institutions. A proven ability to translate, edit, and refine complex texts in English and Russian is essential.
