Job Purpose
This assignment aims to support the UNDP's efforts in promoting labor inclusion and diversity within the business sector. The volunteer will be responsible for the graphic design and editorial layout of three complementary educational booklets. These materials are intended to transform technical content into visually appealing, accessible, and easily understandable educational tools. The ultimate goal is to enhance the reach, comprehension, and utility of these resources for businesses and other stakeholders committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, and human rights in the workplace, thereby contributing to more equitable and respectful work environments.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will provide graphic design, editorial layout, and development support for three educational booklets focused on promoting labor inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities. The core task involves transforming pre-developed and validated technical content into visually engaging, accessible, and easily comprehensible materials for businesses and relevant stakeholders. Specific activities include content layout, cover and interior design, creation of graphic resources, iconography, visual schemes, tables, and highlighted elements to improve content understanding. The volunteer may also propose visual concepts and graphic identities to ensure coherence across the three booklets. Ensuring all visual elements (illustrations, photographs) are free to use or have appropriate authorization is required. Final products must be delivered in formats suitable for both digital distribution and potential printing.
Work Experience
Required experience includes proven experience in graphic design, editorial design, or publication layout. Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva is essential. Basic knowledge of file preparation for print and digital distribution is also required. The ability to organize technical information into clear visual content and attention to detail are crucial.
