Job Purpose
The UNV Communications Expert in Ankara will provide high-impact communications support to UNFPA Türkiye, focusing on immediate visibility and content production needs. This role is crucial for amplifying the 8th Country Programme's achievements and donor visibility. The expert will collaborate closely with the Communications and Programme Teams, reporting to the UNFPA Representative, and is expected to contribute to delivering excellent programme results through effective communication strategies and execution.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement communications and social media strategies aligned with UNFPA brand standards to enhance the visibility of the 8th Country Programme. This includes creating a social media calendar, translating complex data into engaging digital assets (infographics, videos), moderating digital spaces, and using analytics to optimize campaigns. Strengthen UNFPA's public relations by monitoring political and legislative developments, drafting policy briefs, and managing PR logistics for high-level meetings. Design and evaluate behaviour change communication strategies to shift social norms and attitudes, developing culturally sensitive materials and fostering partnerships with local organizations. Establish metrics to assess BCC intervention efficacy and perform other required duties.
Work Experience
Requires at least seven years of relevant experience in communications, including graphic design and video editing software. Proficiency in office applications and corporate IT systems is necessary. Experience in program/project implementation, development/humanitarian programs, content creation, and familiarity with UN procedures are assets. Fluency in written and spoken English and native Turkish are required.
