Organizational Context
The UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in Venezuela supports the implementation of the Assistance Framework and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It enhances the work and visibility of UN entities, promoting comprehensive analysis and coherent actions. The RCO focuses on strategic planning, development economics, partnerships, data management, and communication. The Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team, overseeing development activities, resource mobilization, and ensuring system-wide coherence and effectiveness.
Job Purpose
The UN Coordination Associate will support the Resident Coordinator's Office in Caracas, Venezuela, contributing to the effective coordination of UN system activities. This role involves assisting in the planning, organization, and follow-up of inter-agency meetings, facilitating collaboration among UN agencies, and supporting the monitoring of workplans to ensure coherence with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). The associate will also play a key role in managing interagency information, developing dashboards, and supporting data collection and analysis for UN INFO, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and reporting.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support the Resident Coordinator's Office in Caracas by providing inter-agency coordination support, including organizing meetings, preparing minutes, and tracking action points. They will contribute to the effective functioning of the UN Country Team (UNCT) coordination mechanisms and facilitate collaboration across Results Groups and UN agencies to ensure coherence in UNSDCF implementation. The role involves supporting the monitoring of inter-agency workplans and identifying opportunities for joint programming. Additionally, the volunteer will manage interagency information by designing and maintaining a UNCT dashboard, supporting data collection and validation for UN INFO, and assisting in generating analytical outputs and reports. They will also contribute to country analysis and strategic foresight, supporting the development of the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and analyzing the UN system's contribution to SDGs.
Work Experience
While no prior experience is required, demonstrated interest or experience (up to two years) in project/programme management, inter-agency coordination, information management, or data analysis is desirable. Experience with international organizations or the UN system is an asset. Proven experience in organizing meetings and supporting coordination processes is beneficial, as is familiarity with data collection, analysis, visualization tools, and results-based management.
