Job Purpose
This assignment aims to translate essential training materials on UNCITRAL's cross-border insolvency framework from English to Chinese. The translated content will enable judges, insolvency experts, and other stakeholders in China to access and utilize this specialized legal information. The purpose is to enhance understanding and application of international insolvency law within China, contributing to UNCITRAL's mission of modernizing commercial law. The volunteer's contribution is vital for finalizing this translation, thereby supporting UNCITRAL's outreach and capacity-building objectives in the region.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will translate approximately 40 pages of training material and annexes on cross-border insolvency from English into Chinese. Key responsibilities include ensuring the translation is accurate, concise, and adheres to UNCITRAL's communication guidelines and target audience requirements. The volunteer will receive the source document and necessary guidance on the audience and communication standards. This role offers an opportunity to gain insights into international trade law and contribute directly to UNCITRAL's efforts to update legal professionals on current trends in cross-border insolvency.
Work Experience
Candidates must be native Chinese speakers and fluent in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to insolvency is considered an advantage. Previous translation experience is also beneficial but not strictly required.

Essential skills include native proficiency in Chinese and fluency in English. The ability to translate technical legal terminology accurately is important. Adherence to communication guidelines and conciseness in writing are also key requirements for this role.
