Job Purpose
The National UN Volunteer (NUNV) Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Associate will support UNFPA India's Country Programme by strengthening the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Unit. This role is vital for mobilizing strategic resources, diversifying partnerships, and supporting innovative financing approaches. The associate will contribute to enhancing donor intelligence, developing partnerships, coordinating proposals, managing donor relations, and improving reporting and knowledge management. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the successful implementation of the Country Programme and accelerate progress towards UNFPA's transformative results in India, ensuring that fundamental human rights related to sexual and reproductive health are upheld and advanced.
Responsibilities
The NUNV will support the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Unit under the guidance of the Chief, Policy and Partnership and direct supervision of the RM and Partnerships Specialist. Key responsibilities include mapping potential donors and developing tailored partnership strategies, particularly with non-traditional sources like the private sector and foundations. The associate will conduct horizon scanning and donor intelligence to identify funding opportunities and donor priorities. They will assist in coordinating proposal development, consolidating concept notes, and managing donor agreements in compliance with UNFPA policies. Communication with donors and partners, including preparing presentations and reports, is essential. The role involves maintaining and updating the partnership pipeline, donor engagement tracker, and funding opportunity calendar. Additionally, the NUNV will capture and synthesize human-interest stories to showcase programme impact and support donor visibility, and contribute to the quality assurance of donor reports by liaising with various internal teams.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in partnerships and resource mobilization at national or international levels is required. Experience working within the UN or other international organizations is beneficial. Proficiency in MS Office applications and database management is necessary. The candidate should be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, meet tight deadlines, and adapt professionally to challenging environments.
