Job Purpose
The Operations Specialist will support the UNOPS North Africa Multi-Country office in managing its portfolio of engagements. This role involves providing crucial programme management support, coordinating with stakeholders, and fostering inter-agency collaboration. The specialist will contribute to tracking programme results, preparing reports, and facilitating communication with various partners, including UN agencies, international organizations, donors, and governments. Additionally, the position will support knowledge management and document control, ensuring effective implementation of standards, tools, and best practices for improved programme performance and risk management.
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, the UN Volunteer will provide programme management support, focusing on stakeholder coordination and inter-agency collaboration. Key tasks include tracking programme results against targets, alerting management to delivery issues, compiling data, and drafting reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves preparing meeting summaries, following up on action items, and conducting research for analytical documents. Support will be provided for coordination with UN entities, international organizations, donors, and governments, including preparing materials for meetings and drafting public information products. The volunteer will also assist in managing programme files, documenting decisions, and contributing to the implementation of programme management standards and best practices. Furthermore, the role includes contributing to risk and issue management processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required in programme/project development, support, or management within public or private sector organizations. Experience in coordination, partnership management, donor reporting, managing donor agreements, or preparing project proposals is desirable. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of project implementation is also desired.

Expertise in Administration, Development programmes, and Business management is beneficial.
