Job Purpose

This role supports UNFPA's mission by providing essential translation services from English to French for critical documents. The primary purpose is to ensure accurate and high-quality translation of the Guidelines for Marriages and Divorces Registration. These translated documents will be shared with member states and development partners involved in the civil registration system, requiring a high degree of precision. The assignment aims to enhance the accessibility and understanding of these guidelines, contributing to the strengthening of civil registration systems and supporting UNFPA's broader goals of improving reproductive health and rights, and gender equality. The volunteer's contribution is vital for effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The online volunteer will translate the Guidelines for Marriages and Divorces Registration from English to French. This involves undertaking the translation and ensuring its accuracy and quality. The volunteer will work collaboratively, potentially with another volunteer who will validate the translated version. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure the translations are precise, as the output will be used by member states and development partners. The volunteer will be provided with necessary information and materials to perform the tasks effectively. This contribution supports the enhancement of civil registration systems and facilitates communication with key stakeholders.

Work Experience

Experience in translating technical documents for high-level policymakers, member states, and development partners is required. Experience with social media platforms (X, TikTok, Facebook) and stakeholder communication is desirable. Detail orientation, collaboration, analytical skills, and excellent writing skills are also important.
