Organizational Context
Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA), operating as the Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), is a community-based non-profit in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda. Established in 2001, it focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable groups through education, livelihoods, resilience, protection, and social development. ERONet recently adopted its Strategic Plan 2026-2031 and requires support to develop key documents for enhanced donor engagement, planning, and learning.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to support ERONet in developing crucial companion documents to its new Strategic Plan 2026-2031. The goal is to strengthen the organization's fundraising readiness, implementation planning, and impact communication capabilities. The volunteer will contribute to building ERONet's institutional capacity and enhancing its positioning for future partnerships and resource mobilization. This support is vital for ERONet to effectively translate its strategic vision into actionable plans and demonstrate its impact in a post-conflict and refugee-hosting environment facing challenges like poverty and limited opportunities.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the development of three key strategic documents to enhance ERONet's implementation and fundraising efforts. This includes: 1. **Organizational Vision and Positioning Document:** Craft a concise document (3-5 pages) that clearly articulates ERONet's identity, community-focused approach, strategic priorities, impact, and long-term vision. 2. **Year One Implementation Plan:** Develop a detailed plan translating the strategic plan into operational priorities, implementation strategies, partnership requirements, target communities, and resource needs. 3. **Learning and Qualitative Evidence Framework:** Create a framework for capturing stories of change, community perspectives, outcome-level evidence, and lessons learned to effectively demonstrate sustainable impact. The volunteer will also provide recommendations for improving donor-facing communication and evidence generation processes.
Work Experience
Required experience includes a background in NGO strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising, or donor engagement. The volunteer should have experience in developing organizational profiles, implementation plans, or learning frameworks. Experience working with grassroots, local, or community-based organizations is considered an asset.
Skills
Key skills include strong writing, editing, and communication abilities. The volunteer must understand community-led development approaches. Desirable skills include knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, learning, and qualitative evidence collection. Fluency in English is required.
