Job Purpose
This role supports international cooperation and partnership-building for tribal development within India's Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The incumbent will conduct research, coordinate initiatives, document best practices, and engage stakeholders to facilitate collaboration between the Ministry, UN agencies, and international partners. The position aims to promote knowledge exchange through joint programs and initiatives, map international interventions, and advance innovative approaches to improve development outcomes for tribal communities. The role is crucial for strengthening the Ministry's engagement with international agencies to foster inclusive and sustainable development through global cooperation, knowledge exchange, and cultural understanding.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support the identification and documentation of global best practices in sectors like education, health, and livelihoods for tribal communities. Responsibilities include developing bilateral and multilateral collaborations through knowledge exchange, research, and cultural/youth programs, and assisting in monitoring these efforts. The role involves facilitating Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and institutional partnerships with international stakeholders. Additionally, the volunteer will map international interventions and funding opportunities for tribal communities, identify emerging global trends and policy developments, and provide analytical input for decision-making. Preparation of concept notes, policy briefs, reports, and communication materials is also required. The position will support the organization of international conferences and knowledge-sharing platforms, and assist in establishing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for collaborative projects. Promoting tribal art, culture, and heritage globally, and fostering international youth leadership opportunities are key aspects. The role also contributes to strengthening South-South and Triangular Cooperation by sharing India's tribal development models.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required. This includes demonstrated interest in the socio-economic development of tribal youth, understanding of tribal issues, and knowledge of international development frameworks. Experience in research, analysis, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development is essential. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary. Familiarity with youth-related issues and an ability to work inclusively and collaboratively are also important.
