Job Purpose
This role is crucial for the effective coordination and development of a continent-wide network of Youth Development Correspondents. The primary purpose is to manage and support correspondents who research and disseminate information on youth development across Africa. The volunteer will ensure the network's quality, consistency, and engagement by facilitating onboarding, communication, and activity tracking. This position directly contributes to strengthening the network's capacity to share valuable knowledge, ultimately benefiting young people across the African continent and supporting the AYM's mission.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for supporting the coordination of the Youth Development Correspondents network across Africa. Key duties include assisting with volunteer onboarding and maintaining accurate volunteer records. The role involves tracking assignments and deliverables, monitoring participant engagement, and facilitating communication between correspondents and AYM leadership. Additionally, the volunteer will support virtual meetings and training sessions, prepare activity summaries and progress reports, and assist with project scheduling and workflow management. Identifying and addressing participation challenges, recommending solutions, and supporting the expansion of the correspondent network are also core responsibilities. Expected deliverables include a volunteer tracking system, monthly participation reports, a correspondent directory, meeting summaries, and engagement recommendations.

Required experience includes volunteer coordination, project coordination skills, strong communication abilities, and organizational/time-management skills. Experience working with multicultural teams and using online collaboration tools is also necessary. The ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills is essential.
