Operating within a continental initiative, AYM seeks to bridge the gap between policy frameworks and young people. This involves creating a network of contributors to document and promote youth development, contributing to a knowledge base shared through various platforms.

Job Purpose

This assignment seeks to empower young people by increasing their understanding of policies, organizations, and resources available for their development. The volunteer will research and present information on youth employment, entrepreneurship, education, and other key areas within their country. The goal is to bridge the information gap between existing youth development frameworks and the young individuals they are intended to serve. By creating educational content, including videos and articles, the volunteer will contribute to a growing library of country-specific knowledge resources, fostering informed participation in national development and supporting AYM's mission.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will act as a Youth Development Correspondent, researching and presenting information on youth development policies, institutions, programs, and opportunities within their country. Key duties include investigating topics such as youth employment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, technology, healthcare, leadership, and public policy. The volunteer will prepare educational content, including an 8-15 minute video and a supporting article or briefing note, to help young people understand national youth strategies, available opportunities, government programs, and regional frameworks. Deliverables also include source materials and recommendations for improving youth awareness and participation. Content can be produced in various languages, with English subtitles or summaries encouraged for wider accessibility.

Work Experience

The role requires research and analytical skills, the ability to gather information from credible sources, and good written and verbal communication. Familiarity with video recording tools, presentation software, or AI content creation tools is desirable. An interest in youth development, public policy, and related fields such as employment, entrepreneurship, education, or governance is also beneficial.
