Job Purpose
This role supports the UN Women's Women Count programme by providing essential editorial and formatting expertise for the finalization of five technical knowledge products. These products are crucial for building knowledge, capacity, and harmonization around time use, citizen data, and household surveys. The assignment aims to drive structural changes in economic policies and programmes that empower women and support their employment and entrepreneurship. By making women's economic contributions more visible through various data sources, the programme helps governments recognize the economic value of unpaid care work and address gendered gaps in economic policy. The volunteer's contribution will ensure these critical documents are polished and ready for dissemination.
Responsibilities
The online volunteer will be responsible for the comprehensive editing, proofreading, and formatting of three key technical knowledge products developed by the Women Count programme. This includes ensuring language consistency and adherence to UN Women's editorial guidelines and the UN style guide. The volunteer will meticulously proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors. Additionally, they will format the Word documents according to the Women Count branding guidelines. The specific documents to be worked on are: 'Integrating Citizen Data on Gender into National SDG Monitoring Frameworks' (17,000 words), its companion report 'Integrating Citizen Data on Gender into National SDG Monitoring Frameworks: Case Studies' (6,000 words), and 'A Guide to Mainstreaming a Gender Perspective in Surveys of Households and Individuals' (30,000 words).
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required. This experience should encompass editorial and copyediting tasks. Experience in graphic design is considered a desirable asset for this role.

Required skills include strong editorial and copyediting abilities, with a keen eye for detail in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
