Organizational Context

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO) in Malawi supports the UN Resident Coordinator in leading the UN Country Team (UNCT) to enhance the impact, efficiency, and effectiveness of UN operational activities for development. UNRCO provides inter-agency coordination, strategic planning, programme and operations management, policy guidance, and communications support. This work aligns with the Malawi 2024-2028 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), supporting national priorities and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Job Purpose

This role seeks a creative Online UN Volunteer to provide graphic design services for the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Strategy report. The volunteer will produce a visually appealing and engaging document, utilizing creativity, functionality, and technology to design an eye-catching and informative strategy. Collaboration with the Partnership and Communications Officers is essential for selecting photos and incorporating elements like tables, indexes, maps, infographics, and graphs. The final report is expected to be between 30 and 40 pages, effectively blending the core narrative with visual elements.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to provide graphic design services for the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Strategy report. This includes producing a visually appealing and engaging document that effectively communicates the strategy's objectives. The volunteer will employ creativity, functionality, and technology to design an eye-catching and informative report. Key tasks involve collaborating with the Partnership Officer and Communications Officer to select appropriate photos and integrate various visual elements such as tables, indexes, maps, infographics, and graphs. The final output should be a well-designed document of 30-40 pages, blending the reporting narrative with visual storytelling.

Work Experience

At least two years of professional experience in graphic design is required. Experience in editing is also mentioned. The ability to design full reports, create infographics, charts, and tables, and integrate these elements into a cohesive document is essential.

Skills

Proficiency in graphic design is essential. The role requires creativity, functionality, and the ability to utilize technology effectively.
