Job Purpose
This role supports the development of a practical training course on gender-responsive Local Economic Development (LED) for municipalities. The course aims to equip municipal staff and local economic actors with the skills to identify gender gaps and integrate gender-responsive approaches into policies and programs. The objective is to ensure that LED initiatives promote inclusive and sustainable local prosperity by addressing structural barriers and fostering equitable outcomes for all.
Responsibilities
The online volunteer will contribute to the development of a training course on gender-responsive Local Economic Development (LED) for municipalities. Key duties include researching and curating relevant examples, drafting and structuring course modules, and preparing training materials such as slides and exercises. The volunteer will also assist in ensuring logical flow and consistent terminology within course content, identify good practice examples and tools focused on municipal responsibilities, and support liaison with the M4EG team and gender specialists. Quality assurance of the final training package for clarity and coherence is also a responsibility.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong research and synthesis skills for identifying and summarizing resources and practical examples for municipalities. Desirable experience includes knowledge of gender equality, women's economic empowerment, local economic development, local governance, or municipal service delivery. Experience in developing training materials or supporting course design is considered an asset.
