Job Purpose
The Economic and Social Policy (ESP) Global Practice of UNICEF seeks online volunteers with graphic design expertise to enhance the dissemination and visibility of its work. The volunteers will support the layout and design of high-priority knowledge and training products. These materials cover social and behavior change programming, gender-responsive social protection, and capacity-building resources. The aim is to produce polished, accessible content that aligns with UNICEF's corporate visual identity, thereby effectively communicating UNICEF's initiatives to government counterparts, development partners, civil society, and practitioners worldwide.
Responsibilities
The online volunteers will provide graphic design and layout support for various UNICEF public-facing products. Specific tasks include designing three case studies (5 pages each) on the value of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) in Cash+ and Universal Child Benefits programs, and one compendium (5 pages) on mainstreaming SBC in these programs. Additionally, volunteers will design the SBC for Cash Transfer Programmes framework (20 pages), including programmatic checklists, indicators, and survey questions. Other responsibilities involve designing materials for the UNICEF Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Social Protection Capacity-Building Training, comprising four modules (approx. 100 slides each), a workbook (approx. 80 pages), and facilitator guides (4 guides, approx. 10 pages each). Finally, one volunteer will revise the design of a UNICEF Lessons Learned Study (approx. 100 pages). All designs must adhere to UNICEF's corporate guidelines.
Work Experience
Candidates must possess professional experience in graphic design, with a proven track record in designing document layouts. In-depth knowledge of graphic design applications is required. Previous experience in similar roles is essential for this assignment.
Skills
Proficiency in graphic design applications, experience in document layout design, and strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. The ability to adhere to corporate design guidelines is also required. Candidates should be able to produce polished, accessible, and visually aligned content.
