Job Purpose
This role supports the UNV and VSO joint social media advocacy campaign for the International Year of Volunteers (IVY) in Malawi. The campaign, running from June to November 2026, seeks to promote the significance of volunteerism in achieving national development goals. The Graphic Designer will be instrumental in developing a comprehensive suite of standardized visual assets. This includes creating templates for presentations, social media, and quote cards, as well as designing promotional posters for scheduled webinars. The designs will be crucial for effectively communicating campaign messages across various digital platforms and ensuring alignment with UNV and VSO branding guidelines.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Lead IVY Advocacy Campaign Coordinator, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing a set of standardized, visually appealing templates for the IVY Malawi campaign. This includes creating templates for PowerPoint presentations for webinars, social media cards for platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter, and quote cards to feature key speakers and messages. Additionally, the role involves creating a series of promotional posters for eight distinct webinar events scheduled between July and October 2026. A key responsibility is ensuring all designs strictly adhere to UNV and VSO branding guidelines and align with the established visual direction. The designer will also adapt designs as needed for different digital platforms and formats to maximize campaign reach and impact.
Work Experience
Proven experience in graphic design is required, with a strong portfolio demonstrating skills in creating templates and promotional materials. Experience in adapting designs for various digital platforms and formats is also necessary. Familiarity with UNV and VSO branding guidelines is beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in professional design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Canva is essential. The ability to create modern, clean, and engaging designs that adhere to brand guidelines is required. Fluency in English is also a mandatory requirement for this role.
