Job Purpose
This assignment supports the finalization of a Regional Action Plan for Integrating Human Mobility into Comprehensive Disaster Management Programming across Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Participating States. As part of the Fostering Collaborative Approaches to Disaster-Preparedness in the Caribbean project, the role involves providing high-quality copy-editing to ensure the document is accurate, clear, coherent, and publication-ready. The objective is to contribute to a coordinated response to human mobility in the context of climate change and disasters, building on a decade of IOM's work in the Caribbean.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will provide comprehensive copy-editing services for the Regional Action Plan on Human Mobility and Disaster Management. This includes meticulously reviewing the entire text for accuracy, clarity, logical flow, and overall coherence. The volunteer will proofread the document to correct all grammatical, spelling, and typographical errors. A key responsibility is ensuring strict consistency in terminology, style, and formatting according to IOM standards. The role requires close collaboration with the IOM team to produce a professional, technically sound, and publication-ready document suitable for layout and printing, thereby enhancing the quality and impact of the action plan.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong copy-editing and proofreading skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to enhance the clarity, flow, and readability of technical documents is essential. Experience in editing policy or program documents for publication and producing final, publication-ready documents is required. Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical teams are also necessary.
