Digital Innovation and Communication Specialist (UN 2.0)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Chile supports the coordination of UN agencies, funds, and programmes to ensure coherence and effectiveness in operational activities. It enhances the visibility of UN actions, supports joint programmes, and facilitates inter-agency coordination. The RCO also acts as a liaison with external stakeholders for joint UN system engagement, contributing to the UN Reform and the implementation of the Cooperation Framework.
Job Purpose
This assignment supports the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Chile by managing and providing technical assistance for website and social media platforms. It involves implementing AI tools for analytics and communication product development, alongside data management and analysis. The role will also contribute to the adoption of UN 2.0 "Quintet of Change" elements, focusing on enhancing digital innovation, communication strategies, and data-driven approaches within the UN system in Chile.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will manage and update the UN Chile website and social media, creating engaging content aligned with UN standards. Responsibilities include assisting in planning and disseminating joint communication campaigns, providing technical support to inter-agency communication groups, and preparing various communication materials like presentations and reports. The role also involves supporting data collection, organization, and management within UN INFO, compiling national data for the Common Country Analysis (CCA), and contributing to data systematization and quality assurance. Furthermore, the volunteer will support data analysis and visualization, identify and apply AI and digital tools for enhanced analysis and content creation, and develop automated workflows for performance monitoring. Contributions to UN 2.0 "Quintet of Change" initiatives, knowledge management, and inter-agency liaison are also key duties.
Work Experience
Requires 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated interest or experience in communications, data management, or digital tools is essential. Basic experience managing social media or website content (CMS tools) is highly desired. Familiarity with data handling, basic analysis, organization, and visualization (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) is needed. Exposure to AI and digital tools for communications and data analysis is desirable.
